Crystals, A Practitioner's Perspective

It's rare to find me somewhere in my life without a crystal present, but it wasn't till a recent meeting with George, a crystal supplier and my latest purchase of three stones that I really realised of what importance they were to me, and how I was using them.

Crystals have been a part of my life since my teens when my sister introduced me and gave me a little bit of a background into what they were and what they were for. As I got older, I started to purchase my own - just the odd one here or there and learnt about the importance of cleansing them. It was in my twenties I learnt about chakras and I purchased my first chakra set, starting with the deep basal red colours moving through to the oranges, yellows, green, blues, purples and indigo. It still didn't mean much to me, but I felt for better having them.

Fast forward to my thirties and my recent purchase - an intuitive selection, thanks to spending the day beside Complexity Crystals at a recent Wellbeing Fayre. As I spent some time in the presence of a vast array of beautiful crystals some just stood out as being the ones to have and others, whilst pretty, had no pull at all. I hadn't intended to make a purchase, but on leaving I found it impossible to be parted with three I had intuitively put to one side. Once home, it struck me that all three were in fact helping me with a current problem, acting like a supportive influence that reminded me to stick with it, I'll get through it to the other side.

Other crystals in my life are to provide a super-charged or relevant environment for a consultation. As a qualified Reiki and Mind Detox practitioner I use crystals to support me in making the right choices and to provide the relevant input to heal someone or help them resolve an issue. I'll often recommended crystals to others, and just today my niece reminded me of our inbuilt ability to pick the right ones for us to guide us through whatever we're going through at that moment.

I'd be lost without my crystals as they have become such a huge part of who I am. Next month I will be training as a Reiki Master, and I will use crystals even more as I learn to use a crystal healing grid, something I am very excited about.

I suppose if I had to sum it up, I would say that I pick crystals because I am drawn to them. I am drawn to the properties and resonances each of them has or the properties in me they acquire and thus cleanse me. That really is just a layman speaking, I've not really had any formal training in them. They are colourful and vibrationally exciting and support me in my times of need. And I am grateful for meeting George, a crystal provider who ethically sources and who is eager to please, easy to work with and knowledge and passionate about his craft.

So without even having whisper of knowledge like crystal healers do, I am still very much involved with these little bits of rock. I guess, when you think about it, that is what makes this planet so wonderful - that all we ever need to succeed in life is right here, right now and right before our eyes. Just don't bury them in the garden like I did two years ago to cleanse and rejuvenate them without making the spot very very well, or you may just never find them again!
